Intended audience
Workers involved in work carried out in environments classified as “confined spaces”.
On request, for non-standard or specific situations, it is possible to plan customized courses to be carried out at the customer's premises.
Prerequisites
Participants must be:
- in good, self-certified physical and mental condition;
- of age.

Provide the know-how and skills necessary for operating safely in confined spaces.

Course fee
380,00€ per participant at Kong premises (VAT exempt).
It is possible to organize courses on Saturdays and Sundays as well, by scheduling the dates in advance. Customized quotes will be provided with the appropriate fee adjustments.
Confirmation of the course will be sent by e-mail at least 10 working days before the fixed date.
The course will be activated upon reaching a minimum of 6 participants and a maximum of 12.
Contents
Legal/Technical (4 hours)
- Reference regulations
- Definitions and identification of a confined space or a space suspected of contamination and related criticalities
- Analysis of accident events
- Identification of risk factors
- Specific risks: breathable air, atmospheres with oxygen deficiency or excess, atmospheres with hazardous chemical agents causing asphyxiation and/or intoxication, atmospheres with explosion and fire hazards, burial, falls from height, falling objects, communication gaps, etc.
- Characteristics and hazards of chemical agents
- Prevention measures and procedures during work phases in confined spaces or spaces suspected of contamination, including but not limited to:
- Entry and exit procedures for confined spaces
- Size and number of manholes, number of access points, number of workers present
- Atmosphere monitoring
- Lighting systems, devices to prevent electric shock
- Machinery and work equipment (augers, agitators, blades, etc.)
- "Ventilation", meaning the implementation of all systems for air exchange
- Health surveillance
Practical (12 hours)
- Procedures to be implemented in case of emergency (fire/explosion, anoxia, presence of toxic gases, casualty recovery)
- Simulation of the use of available equipment and devices:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Respiratory Protective Devices (RPD): usage, types, filters
- Safety harnesses, tripod, gas detectors, explosivity meters
- Signaling and communication systems
Log book
The PPE required for the course (with the exception of clothing, footwear, and gloves) will be provided by Kong S.p.A.
Logbook holders (Kong, Irata, GWO) are required to bring it with them for recording updates.
Certification
A certificate of attendance is issued after a positive learning assessment and 100% attendance of the total course hours.
Payment procedure
Bank transfer within two days of receipt of the course confirmation. Registration will only be officially confirmed upon receipt of the fee.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation Kong S.p.A. will retain:
- 50% if the cancellation is made within 5 working days before the beginning of the course
- the entire fee if the cancellation is made from the fourth working day before the beginning of the course, at the beginning of the course or after the course has started
Any absences for health reasons only entitle the fee to be suspended.
