Objectives and course aim
Through direct experience activities, concrete and sensitive, conducted in natural open spaces between land, water and air, non-technical skills that decisively affect every work and non-work activity are explored.
The course structure alternates experimentation and practical experience with moments of sharing, reflection and decoding, useful for grasping the meaning of non-technical skills and improving our understanding of human behavior, starting with our own.
When we talk about non-technical skills, we mean a set of transversal skills such as the ability to communicate effectively, leadership, teamwork, situational awareness, the way in which decisions are made, fatigue and stress management. But it is an open world made of awareness, extraneous to calculations and dogmas.
Very often, non-technical skills are used unknowingly by all of us; they are not clearly spelled out and recognized. They may be handed down among generations of workers without being given importance, sometimes because they seem too obvious or are taken for granted.
Whomever is called upon to "manage" safety, their own or that of others, must be aware that compliance with the rules is important, as is the use of certified equipment and the most up-to-date techniques. Yet training that brings people to the focus of attention, with all the skills they sometimes don't even know they have, is a step forward. We rethink safety.
