This symbol marks the items certified under the directive 89/686/EEC and related CE standards. By clicking over it, you can have the certification document. The majority of connectors (i.e. carabiners) with a locking device of the gate, are certified as per EN 362.

This symbol marks the connectors (i.e. carabiners) complying with the standards of the International Union of Alpine Associations (UIAA), that usually are more severe then CE norms.

The word "connector" is the name by which CE standardization identifies the devices that mountaineers usually call "carabiners" or "carbine hooks".

La parola "connettore" è il nome con cui la normativa CE identifica gli attrezzi che per tradizione gli alpinisti chiamano "moschettoni".

Guaranteed loads are briefly marked on each item, and described in details into the attached instructions for use. The maximum loads, marked on connectors, are referred to these conditions:
major axis with closed gate (that is the usual condition), minor axis with closed gate, and finally major axis with open gate.

The loads marked with are those tolerated for repeated lifting with a safety ratio of 1:4 appr.

I carichi garantiti sono marcati sugli attrezzi, e descritti in dettaglio nelle istruzioni d'uso allegate. I carichi massimi marcati sui connettori, si riferiscono a queste condizioni:

A measure in millimetres, and a symbol , indicates the main dimension of the item. For connectors this is the dimension A. The measure following the symbol indicates the maximum diameter of the rope that can get inside.

Una misura in millimetri, e il simbolo ,  indicano l'ingombro maggiore dell'attrezzo. Per i connettori questo è la dimensione A. La misura che segue il simbolo indica il diametro massimo della corda che può entrare.

This icon indicates the carabiners that make use of the patented KeyLock System which avoid any snagging point that can entangle the rope.  

Questa icona indica i moschettoni che, utilizzando il brevetto KeyLock System, sono privi di ogni punto di incastro che possa impigliare la corda.

These alloys are chosen in particular for mountaineering carabiners. They are a highly sophisticated material designed for aircraft structures with outstanding properties (for example, ultimate tensile strength 600 N/mm²) and extreme lightness.

Queste leghe sono usate in particolare per i moschettoni da alpinismo. Si tratta di un materiale sofisticato, con caratteristiche elevatissime (ad esempio, 600 N/mm² di carico di rottura) e grande leggerezza, impiegato soprattutto nell'industria aeronautica.

STAINLESS STEEL

This alloy (with 20% chrome, 10% nickel, 2% molybdenum, no copper) is the most resistant to marine, chemical and environmental corrosion. Its use (in place more inexpensive varieties, very often defined as Stainless Steel) shows that no half measures have been adopted in terms of the quality of the finished products.

Questa lega (con 20% di cromo, 10% di nichel, 2% di molibdeno, rame assente) è il materiale metallico più resistente alla corrosione marina, chimica e ambientale. Il suo impiego, in luogo di altri generici acciai Inox, più economici, fa la differenza di chi non vuole compromessi sulla qualità del prodotto finito.

NAVAL BRONZE

Among various types of brass or bronze, this is the specific alloy for use in marine environment (even propellers of big ships are made of this material). It is also extremely strong and should not be confused with the everyday brass. Kong uses this kind of material both for nautical outfits and for leather goods (buckles, &c).

Tra i vari bronzi e ottoni, questa è la lega specifica per l'uso in ambiente marino (anche le eliche delle navi più grandi sono fatte di questo materiale). Esso offre caratteristiche di resistenza che non devono essere confuse con quelle dell'ottone corrente. Kong usa leghe di questo tipo per la produzione dei componenti nautici, e anche degli accessori per l'industria della pelletteria (fibbie ecc.).
