K.K.S. (Kong Klettersteig Sling) e
K.K.R. (Kong Klettersteig Rope)
are the sets with "Y" system, studied to climb in safety along a "via ferrata".

K.K.S. (Kong Klettersteig Ssling) e
K.K.R. (Kong Klettersteig Rope)
sono i set a "Y" studiati per affrontare in sicurezza una "via ferrata".

K.K.S. is mainly made up with sling and
two connectors (type K # 715/907 with double gate
sleeve and one friction plate (type # 806).
K.K.R. is mainly made up with rope and two connectors (type K # 778 with automatic express sleeve and rope retainer) and one friction plate
(type # 806). The systems are fastened into the harness as shown in the following illustrations.

K.K.S. è costituito principalmente da fettuccia e due connettori (tipo K # 715/907 con doppia leva automatica di sicurezza) e da un dissipatore (tipo # 806).
K.K.R. è costituito principalmente da corda e due connettori (tipo K # 778 con ghiera automatica di sicurezza) e da un dissipatore (tipo # 806).
 I sistemi vanno fissati alla imbracatura nel modo descritto dai disegni seguenti. 

Warning

The system works in a safe way when both the connectors are clipped. The rope length between friction plate and harness is about one meter. After a fall, immediately slide the rope back to its original position, and then replace it as soon as possible.

Attenzione

Il sistema è in sicurezza quando entrambi i connettori sono inseriti. Il tratto di corda tra il dissipatore e l'imbracatura è di circa 1 metro. Dopo una caduta la corda va riportata immediatamente nella posizione originale, e poi sostituita appena possibile.

In the K.K.R. set, in emergency, you may replace the connectors type K with connectors type B, if only they are clipped with their gates opposing
(see picture B).

Always check that all components of the set are in good condition. When needed, replace them with Kong original spare parts.

Nel set K.K.R., in emergenza, si possono sostituire uno o entrambi i connettori di tipo K, con connettori tipo B, purché siano inseriti in posizione contrapposta (vedi figura B).

Controllare attentamente che tutte le parti del set siano in buone condizioni. Effettuare le sostituzioni con ricambi originali Kong.

In the K.K.R. set, every connector type K has a rope retainer that obliges its right position.

Nel set K.K.R. i connettori di tipo K sono dotati di un fermacorda che vincola la loro corretta posizione.

The following diagram illustrates the impact shock on the body of a climber that weights 85kg, when he falls 5m along a fixed line.

The sliding of the rope through the friction plate reduces the impact shock from 20kN to 4-5kN.

Il diagramma seguente descrive l’assorbimento della forza di impatto su un alpinista di 85kg, quando cade da 5m lungo una corda fissa.

Lo scorrimento della corda nella piastrina di frizione riduce la forza d’impatto da 20kN a 4-5kN.

Techniques

You need to remember that the set works well only when both connectors are clipped on the safety cable.
Therefore, be sure to be in a stable position when you reach a fraction point.
Move connectors on the upper stretch, one after the other (pictures C1, C2).
Then, go on with two connector clipped on the safety cable (picture C3).

Warning
Avoid to climb with someone else on the same stretch of the cable, because the fall of the first  climber will certainly involve the second one.

Tecniche

Tenere presente che la sicurezza è data dall'avere i due connettori inseriti nel cavo di protezione.
Accertarsi quindi d'essere in posizione stabile quando si raggiunge un punto di frazionamento.
Passare i connettori al tratto successivo, uno dopo l'altro (figure.C1, C2).
Riprendere la progressione con entrambi i connettori inseriti nel cavo (figura C3).

Attenzione
Evitare di procedere in due sullo stesso tratto del cavo di protezione, perchè la caduta del primo alpinista trascinerebbe anche il secondo.

For the maximun protection wear an harness certified CE-UIAA (ie # 8C.071); an helmet which protects you against stones falling (ie # 997.007);
a couple of gloves (ie # 952.01).

Per completare l'equipaggiamento è d'obbligo indossare una imbracatura CE-UIAA (p.e.# 8C.071); un casco che protegga da eventuali cadute di pietre (p.e. # 997.007); un paio di guanti (p.e.# 952.01).
