It blocks when let go (in case of illness or fainting) and when you press on the handle you may slow down your speed until stop (the more you press the more you brake).

To start the descent

Press strongly on the handle, and then release slowly until you find your better descending speed (exactly what you will do with a bike brake).
If you release the handle beyond the its half way, the descender blocks.

How to insert the rope

Following pictures show the correct way.
Remember: to minimize the short slippage that happens from fully released position to fully pressed position, it is advisable to hold the free rope with the other hand and pull down.
 

Questo discensore si blocca rilasciando la mano (in caso di malore). Premendo sulla leva permette di trovare la giusta velocità di discesa (più si preme più si rallenta sino a bloccarsi).

Per cominciare la discesa

Serrate con forza la leva, poi rilasciatela fino a trovare la giusta velocità di discesa (esattamente come un freno di bicicletta).
Se la leva è rilasciata oltre il limite, il discensore  si blocca

Inserimento della corda

Le seguenti figure mostrano la corretta procedura.
Ricorda che per minimizzare il breve scorrimento che avviene nel passaggio da posizione tutto aperto a tutto chiuso è consigliabile impugnare la corda lasca con l'altra mano e tirare verso il basso.

with a safety loop.
 

Mantenimento della posizione

Quando dovete matenere a lungo una posizione di lavoro, è consigliabile assicurarsi con un nodo di bloccaggio.
 

Dropping operation

The descender may be used for lowering heavy loads or persons, with the aid of a connector
and a braking loop.
 

Manovra di calata

Il discensore può essere utilizzato per la calata di materiale o persone con l'impiego di un moschettone ed una "mezza-chiave".
